M.M.A. Teaching Certification
for Instructors of Traditional Martial Arts
Collins Martial Arts Offers Instructor Certification for Black Belts and High-Ranking (Instructor-Level Brown Belt or Similar Ranking Students) who come from various Traditional Martial Arts backgrounds. This program is designed so that these instructors may implement some solid, technically sound, valid Mixed Martial Arts techniques into their own teaching curriculum. There is no "belt-ranking" in these Certifications. Instead, there are four levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Highly Advanced levels of M.M.A. Certification. Similar to a belt-ranking, however, once the participants have gone through several seminars which are several hours each, they must then prove their knowledge in action by taking a live Certification Test for the level of Certification they are trying to achieve. Of course, Certifications must be taken in order. One cannot simply decide they'd like to jump up to take the Advanced-Level Certification test when they've not taken and passed the previous exams. The tests are similar to a belt-ranking test in that they are held all at once over the period of several hours, with very few breaks, and they are most definitely able to be failed. Just like Mr. Collins Goju-Jitsu ranking system, these certifications cannot be simply earned by paying the class dues and showing up. Participants should not bother applying to take these certification tests if they do not have the correct prerequisites, and are not willing or able to put in the hard work it takes just to study and train for the tests, not to mention taking AND passing the exams.
On June 13th, after several seminars to prepare, the first group of participants to take the Beginner-Level M.M.A. Certification course and exam took their test. Happily, all four participants passed. This page will be updated very soon with pictures and bio's of these Instructors who are now certified to begin teaching the Beginner-Level Mixed Martial Arts Certification in their schools, or to whatever students they may have the opportunity to pass the knowledge along to. Students who learn from these graduates of the M.M.A. Certification can be assured that they are learning from someone who has been through a rigorous learning and testing process in order to learn and be able to properly pass along these techniques.
When new groups pass a Certification Test, or advance to a higher one, this page will be updated. This way, anyone claiming to have been certified in M.M.A. Certification through the Goju-Jitsu Mixed Martial Arts System at Collins Martial Arts can easily be verified by checking this page. Again, the very recent class graduates from this past weekend should be posted very soon.

Richard Garner began his training in American Taekwondo under Master Kim Poole in 1998. Kim Poole was a student of Jim Butin in Oklahoma, who was a student of Pat Burleson in Fort Worth, who was a student of the "Father of American Taekwondo", Jhoon Rhee.
Frank Sapp began his training in American Taekwondo under Master Kim Poole in 1998. Since then he has become an instructor at Christian Martial Arts Academy of First Baptist Church Euless.
Rodney Bull began his training in American Taekwondo under Eric Hiller at Westpark American Taekwondo in Irving. Mr. Hiller was a student of Kim Poole in Irving, who was a student of Jim Butin in Oklahoma, who was a student of Pat Burleson in Fort Worth, who was a student of the "Father of American Taekwondo", Jhoon Rhee.
